By way of AICN comes a surprising rumor that The Matrix helmers the Wachowski Brothers have been approached to reboot the dormant Superman franchise as a trilogy.

This comes from regular Wachowski collaborator James McTeigue on a German TV show special on RTL1 that dealt with films being released in the coming year.

It was added that Bryan Singer, who directed Superman Returns, has refused to be involved with the reboot and may work on his long-planned Logan’s Run remake. Wachowski’s are still considering the offer. They are currently working on Plastic Man.
