Having done Picking Up the Pieces, director Alfonso Arau is now set to direct the prohibition drama Little Chicago for Everest Motion Pictures.

Written by journalist Carl Veno, the story focuses on mob factions battling for control of the bootlegging business in Olean, a town of 5,000 that saw 71 murders within two years.

Filming begins this spring in Niagara Falls and Pennsylvania. Steve J. Scarduzio, Gene Kirkwood and Luca Palanca are producing.
