The character of Amanda will return to the Saw franchise in the upcoming Saw VI, according to Twisted Pictures producer Mark Burg on the official site.

He notes that Shawnee Smith (who plays the character) has been contracted and that this time around there are several new characters. It will also be much more violent than the previous five. Additionally, there will be traps that pit victims against each other like we saw in Saw 5.

Shooting will begin for the sixth entry on March 30 and the film is set for release on October 23. Written by Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton, the film is being directed by Kevin Greutert.
