Bond girl Gemma Arterton (Quantum of Solace) has joined the cast of the remake of Clash of the Titans, a classic 1981 Greek mythological film. She will take on the role of demi-goddess Io.

Arterton had this to say: "My part is… the coolest part. Io’s not in the original film. Perseus falls in love with her… It’s a really great part."

She claims that the remake is more about Perseus’ mission and him dealing with being the son of Zeus.

Perseus is going to be played by Sam Worthington. Shooting is set to begin in a few weeks in Tenerife, the largest of the Canary Islands.
