Clinkety Clink Review–A Blast From Our Collective Past

On March 2nd, 2009

Man, do I have a treat for you, folks.  If you’re like me, and in your late twenties / early thirties, you might remember a little book series called Scary Stories to Read In The Dark.  Known for their nightmarish artwork, that even to this day freaks out horror buffs (like yours truly), the books themselves aren’t so easy to find.

Enter YouTube, who has once again stepped in to fill the gap by offering us dramatizations of these classic tales of terror from our youth.  The first one I’ll be hitting is called Clinkety-Clink, and it’s all about a dead woman and the gravedigger who did something he shouldn’t have.

You’ll be fairly surprised by what it is, and the ending is a classic jump-scare, the kind of thing freaked you out so badly when you were a kid, but the key difference here is that it’s done in the style of a radio play.  That means there are sound effects aplenty, and a killer voice actor doing the reading.  In fact, for a short, sharp shock in six minutes, Clinkety-Clink should do the job nicely.  And if you have kids, you’ll likely freak them out with this one too.
