High School Reunion Racks in 1 Million Viewers
It looks like TV Land is scoring big these days and the show to thank is High School Reunion.TV Land’s original series “High School Reunion” averaged nearly 1 million total viewers for last night’s 10 p.m. telecast, making it the most-watched episode of the season to date, according to Nielsen Media Research.
The telecast also gave TV Land double-digit gains over last week’s airing across the network’s target demo, Adults 25-54, and among the network’s core audience of Adults 40-54.
During this season of “High School Reunion,” nineteen classmates from the 1988 graduating class of Arizona’s Chandler High School have been brought together for their own special reunion set on an exotic and romantic Kauai estate to rekindle old relationships, reveal long-held secrets and resolve deep-seated issues from 20 years ago in this eight-part reality series. “High School Reunion” is produced by Next Entertainment in association with Warner Horizon Television.

Everyone knows the truth about how
Everyone knows the truth about how badly the TV Land and the other viacom cable networks have degraded in recent years. I mean it’s all over the place on the web. The current state of the viacom networks is a joke and everyone knows it. The only ones who don’t seem to know it is most of the boolicking entertainment news media. So one night HSR get a thousand viewers. What is that compared to the millions of their original base viewers they have lost in the past 5 or 6 years? It’s all over their website’s message forums ánd that is…THE PUBLIC WANTS BACK CLASSIC 50S & 60S TELEVISION!
Everyone knows the truth about how badly the TV Land and the other viacom cable networks have degraded in recent years. I mean it’s all over the place on the web. So one night HSR get a thousand viewers. What is that compared to the millions of their original base viewers they have lost in the past 5 or 6 years? It’s all over their website’s message forums and that is…THE PUBLIC WANTS BACK CLASSIC 50S & 60S TELEVISION! The degree of repititiveness of their on-screen advertising has to be seen to be believed! Viacom management apparently believe that their much vaunted ÿounger demographic viewers” have serious memory retention issues. ANY WAY you cut it TV Land is now an absolute pathetic joke compared to what it once was from 1996 to the early 2000s….and for a website to have an administrator who takes such an unprofessional tact in responding to the constant level of public disatisfaction being expressed on their website’s public forums is really unprecedented. It is not a very good business practice for viacom to appoint individuals to oversee their websites who are so lacking in professionalism that they adopt an belligerent and adversarial demeanor with the general public.
Look, there is no mystey here. Most viewers understand BY NOW that the cable TV industry is at the beck & call of the DVD video market but for viacom TO BE SO UNWILLING to fork out a few pennies to buy the rights to just a few beloved 50s + 60s classics to make their longsuffering viewers happy is REALLY CHEAP!!! Viacom is now engaged in force-feeding their shrinking viewership reality garbage THAT THEY KNOW what is left of their viewers DO NOT WANT and they JUST REFUSE to let the overwhelming negative viewer feedback CONSTANTLY being expressed on their websites to register on their intellects if you can call what they have intelligence. I sure don’t.
I WISH the entertainment news media would stop covering up for viacom and their degrading cable networks. I don’t know. Maybe some of the media services own shares in viacom BUT THE PUBLIC IS NOT FOOLED. They can plainly see what has happened to cable in the last 10 years. FOR YEARS we the public listened to a bunch of hucksters tell us all how a growing multitude of channels would translate into more programming diversity. What diversity? THE SAME damn infomercials running on 60 to 70 cable channels between midnite and 6:00am every nite??? THAT AIN’T NO REASONABLE PERSON’S idea of diversity…no, just CRAP!
I’m sick of “reality” TV garbage and could care less about the pimply high school exploits of these losers. TV Land, get back to CLASSIC TV, not contemporary GARBAGE. There are _all kinds_ of shows I haven’t seen for many years, the old Untouchables series for one.
TV Land is losing their base of viewers to get a quick bounce on one show. It looks like they may be the 24 hour reality channel with one program, well two they are coming out with Cougar. Another exercise in pure sleaze tv.
