Variety reports that Chris Columbus’ 1492 Entertainment has picked up film rights to Welcome to Hoxford, a horror comic book series created by Ben Templesmith, the man behind 30 Days of Night.

The series sees a psychiatrist teaming up with a mentally disturbed man in order to escape werewolves who run an institution for the criminally insane.

Columbus is not expected to helm the film.
