The trades are reporting that Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester is in negotiations to star in upcoming thriller The Roommate.

She will play Sara, a college student who is randomly assigned to a freshman dorm with a stranger named Rebecca. Things go down fast when Rebecca becomes obsessed and begins targeting people in Sara’s life.

Christian E. Christiansen is onboard to direct. Sonny Mallhi wrote the script.
