Sony Finds Reliable Wife
March 10th, 2009 in Book-to-Movie, Drama -
Today’s first bit of book-to-film adaptations comes from Sony Pictures who has acquired rights to Robert Goolrick’s novel The Reliable Wife.
The story is set in rural Wisconsin in 1908, focusing on a middle-aged widower who places a newspaper ad seeking a “reliable wife”. Moving the story forward, the man finds himself fielding not a homely applicant, but a gorgeous former courtesan with an agenda of her own.
Michael de Luca is currently attached to produce. No director was mentioned.
