Space Rocket Review–Pointless Philosophical Phun

On March 18th, 2009

Sometimes it’s the simplest things that can really make your day, and the short Flash animation Space Rocket from the folks at Newgrounds is perfect proof of that.

Basically, all it is is some Flash animation of a guy on a rocket, speeding through space, witnessing various light-show effects to the tune of the song The Moon from the old Ducktales NES game.

I know…it’s not exactly an Oscar winner.  But what it is, however, is a cleverly produced touch of retro, and the kind of thing that could make your day if you want to remember a little bit of your childhood.  How far does space go?  We don’t know.  And Space Rocket won’t even try to answer that question.  But the ride makes it interesting…and that is the perfect expression of life itself–the ride is the interesting part, not the destination.

Cheesy philosophy aside, it’s still a pretty fun little video even IF it’s a bit pointless.
