The trades are reporting that Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck is in talks to direct The 28th Amendment for Warner Bros. Pictures.

The drama – starring Tom Cruise – revolves around a US president who discovers the existence of a secret cabal that runs the government and wants him dead.

The script was penned by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci (Eagle Eye, Transformers). Producers on board are Basil Iwanyk and Richard Donner.
