Variety reports that Killer Films is finally getting Betsy and the Emperor off the ground.

The adaptation of Staton Rabin’s 2004 children’s ook follows a 14-year old girl who meets Napoleon after his exile on the island of St. Helena.

Al Pacino is reported to star; he has been attached to the project since its original incarnation at Warner Bros.

Brian Edgar is adapting the script; John Curran will direct.
