Curse Online Review–Lacking But Still Solid
Next in the grand lineup of, so far, excellent Fewdio shorts is Curse, a short that asks a very thought-provoking question: which would you rather have–knowledge or happiness?
A man has a very unusual job for a hit man–ten thousand dollars to kill him. Yes–a man wants a hit man to kill him, and is willing to pay for the privilege. But why? Because he’s seen something he shouldn’t have. And that may well be more than anyone would ever want to see.
Oh, and there’s one other question to ask, or maybe not…what’s in the briefcase?
This one isn’t one of the better ones, really; sure, it’s good in a lot of ways, and once again the ending is an excellent twist, but this one actually ran a bit overlong, with too much introduction leading up to the excellent twist. There was about a minute’s worth of material that probably could’ve been cut without sacrificing the story, and in a six minute movie, that’s saying quite a lot.
Still, it’s a good enough horror short, especially for the six minutes you’ll invest in watching it.
