O’Brien Remaking Little Shop of Horrors

From STYD comes word that Declan O’Brien (Wrong Turn 3) has optioned the rights for a new version of The Little Shop of Horrors.

The original film was shot back in 1960, telling the story of a young man who discovers a carnivorous plant. It was remade by Frank Oz in 1986 which based itself on the Ashman/Menken off-Broadway musical version.

O’Brien notes that his will be a different take as well: “I have a take on it you’re not going to expect. I’m taking it in a different direction, let’s put it that way.”

The director plans to move forward with the film soon.
