Talking to The LA Times, Dany Aykroyd revealed that they “could be in production by winter” on a third Ghostbusters film.

He also revealed that Bill Murray, Harold Ramis, Ernie Hudson and Sigourney Weaver are also onboard. They are currently using a script by Year One scribes Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky which has a new generation of Ghostbusters taking over the duties of the aging team.

Aykroyd also expressed his hope that Ivan Reitman would return to helm the third film, but noted that he’s “too busy as a mega-producer”.
