Author Bret Easton Ellis has revealed that Benecio del Toro is tipped to play the famed author in the upcoming adaptation of his novel Lunar Park.

“This is a very funny town,” said Ellis. “Oddly enough, Benicio Del Toro I think is going to do it.”

“I think he’s interested just because he’s rarely offered Anglo parts. I think that’s one of the reasons it was very exciting [to him].”

The book is a semi-autobiographical story that details the early fame Ellis received during the ‘80s. But it then blurs it with fictional details including terrorist attacks, ghost haunting and a marriage to an actress.
