Parkes to Tackle Daemon
On May 20th, 2009
Variety reports that Walter Parkes and David DiGilio are set to adapt Daniel Suarez’s techno thriller novel Daemon for Paramount Pictures.
The film will tell the story of an iconic game designer who, before he died, set up a program to fight mankind. Implausible, I know, but hey, people gobble things up when anti-computer stories roll around.
This will be Parkes’ third screenplay, with the first two being Wargames and Sneakers, both of which were praised for their strong scripts. The book was released this January.
