I like this three some if Amy Adams closes a deal with Relativity Media and co-stars with Christian Bale and Mark Wahlberg in The Fighter.

The story is true to life and very deep.  Adams would play a gritty bartender from Massachusetts who ends up dating Wahlberg’s character, “Irish” Mickey Ward.

Mentioned in Variety, the movie starts shooting this summer and tells the story of Ward’s early days on the rough streets of Lowell, Massachusetts and how he was helped to the world lightweight championship by his half-brother, portrayed by Bale.

The gritty bartender is a great part for Adams to stretch her talent and shine.  The role is quite a contrast to her next film coming out Julie and Julia alongside Meryl Streep.  Adams also finished production on romantic comedy Leap Year.
