Bardem is Burdened with Wall Street Sequel

June 5th, 2009 in Actors, Comedy -

The upcoming Wall Street sequel will focus on the recent financial crisis, mixing it with weddings, cake and, of course, comedy. Keeping that in mind, Javier Bardem has joined the cast of the upcoming sequel by Oliver Stone.

The film sees Michael Douglas return as Gordon Gekko; Shia LaBeouf plays a young trader engaged to marry his daughter. Gekko sees the financial crisis coming, but is focused on his estranged daughter and her upcoming nuptials. Meanwhile, Bardem will play a hedge fund manager whose dealings have caused the suicide of LaBeouf’s mentor.

Filming begins this August for release in February 2010.
