Variety sends word that Kurt Wimmer (Equilibrium, Ultraviolet) is set to pen the upcoming remake of sci-fi classic Total Recall for Sony Pictures.

Released back in 1990, the original saw Arnold Schwarzenegger go to a virtual vacation on Mars alongside Sharon Stone and Rachel Ticotin. Crazy things happen, he lands on the planet’s surface, makes scary faces, terraforms the planet, gets the girl, etc.

The remake will be a contemporary version of the sci-fi film based on the Philip K. Dick story We Can Remember it for You Wholesale.
