Cirulnick to celebrate Havana nocturne

On July 1st, 2009

Cuban gangsters are coming back in style, as THR reports that Matt Cirulnick has been hired to pen an adaptation of T.J. English’s best-seller Havana Nocturne.

The story focuses on a group of American gangsters in Batista’s Cuba, particularly Meyer Lansky, who run the country’s casinos, nightclubs and other such businesses. It explores the rivalries that emerge as they lead the high life. The film will also explore the rise of Castro’s rebels and the beginning of the Cuban Revolution.

Eric Eisner, Gil Adler and Shane McCarthy are onboard as producers.
