Davis to fill Clinton’s shoes
The shoes of the former First Lady and current Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, will be filled by Hope Davis in HBO/BBC Films’ upcoming The Special Relationship.
It will chronicle the unique and turbulent political relationship between newly installed British prime minister Tony Blair and US president Bill Clinton in the late 1990s.
Other cast members include Michael Sheen and Dennis Quaid. Julianne Moore was initially set to play Mrs. Clinton, but pulled out due to a scheduling conflict with The Kids are All Right.
Scheduling conflicts also cost the film’s scribe Peter Morgan to lose his directorial job. Richard Loncraine has since stepped in and will direct. They start shooting later this month in London.
