This summer’s biggest comedy hit so far has been the awesome Hangover to which director Todd Phillips is now set to make a sequel. He will do so once he wraps up work on road trip comedy Due Date.

The Hangover sequel will begin production in October 2010 for release on Memorial Day 2011.

Phillips and Scott Armstrong have begun writing a script for the sequel, which is sure to continue the gang’s antics. The original has raked in $210 million domestic gross so far, becoming the second highest grossing R-rated comedy ever, beaten by Beverly Hills Cop.
