Harry’s Box Office Charm

July 24th, 2009 in Box Office, Movie News, The Movie Biz -

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince casted a spell on the box office last week that is still holding.  I am not surprise that Harry is doing so well. The movie is a charmer.

Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs is still holding on to second place.  I figure it is an excellent movie for kids to see.  With it being summer, there is plenty of time for the kiddies to go to the movies.

Orphan opens this weekend and I am inclined to think that it will out do Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, which came in third place this week.

G-Force, a movie about talking guinea pigs who are agents, might knock Ice Age down a bit.

We mustn’t forget The Ugly Truth with Gerard Butler and Katherine Heigl. A modern day Hudson and Day movie is the best way to describe it.

You would only know if you read the book. The truism is: Books are not movies and movies are not books.
