Disturbed Online Review–The Band Has Nothing To Do With This, And They Should Be Glad For It
I’m always a little disturbed myself whenever someone actually describes their film in any way involving the words “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre“. Inspired by, relating to, anything like that–I’ve seen enough poorly made Texas Chainsaw Knockoffs (Rob Zombie, I’m looking RIGHT AT YOU) to know that anything that tries to mimic this alleged classic (I never really enjoyed it that much–there wasn’t anything really wrong with it but it just never really appealed to me) isn’t going to end well.
Thus, I settled into short film Disturbed on YouTube, and what I got was yet ANOTHER reason why no one should try and base anything on Texas Chainsaw Massacre. It’s cursed or something.
All we get here plotwise is some escaped lunatic breaks into a guy’s house, chases him with a chainsaw and then–and I struggle whether or not to spoiler but I will so you don’t waste your six minutes–gets shot.
That’s it. Really. I just showed you the entire movie, right there in that one paragraph. That’s all there is, there ain’t no more. And frankly, I feel spectacularly cheated having sat through it. What a waste of time and bandwidth.
The Screenhead Ten Scale roundly castigates this predictable knockoff misery by handing out a one out of ten. This is an insult to whatever audience it can manage to round together.
