Avatar preview tickets go on sale Monday.  How it works is the free tickets to a 16-minute trailer will be available online starting tomorrow, August 17.

Cameron’s first dramatic feature since 1997′s Titanic stars Sigourney Weaver as a mentor to Sam Worthington, a Marine sent in an altered form to a planet 200 years in the future.

The unique trailer of the sci-fi action flick arrives at 101 Imax venues across the U.S. and Canada on August 21.

The trailer will feature a large amount of Avatar footage shown to a lucky few at Comic-Con 2209. It includes an on-camera introduction by the Oscar-winning director and several new scenes.

Most likely it will be a raging grab for free preview tickets, they’ll be given away at first-come, first-served basis when you visit the Avatar website (www.avatarmovie.com) at noon PST Monday.
