Winslet Narrates Icelandic Director Fridriksson’s Documentary

Academy Award-winning actress Kate Winslet has come on board to narrate The Sunshie Boy, a documentary about autism by Icelandic director Fridrik Thor Fridriksson. Fridriksson won an Academy Award nomination for Children of Nature.

The film is a first-person account by Frontier Filmworks producer Margret Dagmar Ericsdottir of her passionate quest to understand her severely autisticson Keli, so is eleven years old. 

In a press release Ericsdottir expressed that she was delighted and honored that Kate Winslet agreed to the narration.  “Her contribution plays an instrumental role in increasing awareness for autism, which many claim is the world’s fastest-growing epidemic.”

The Sunshine Boy will have its world premiere in the Real to Reel section of the Toronto International Film Festival on September 12. Other contributors to the film include the Icelandic singer Björk and the Icelandic band Sigur Ros.
