Alfredson to Direct ‘Danish’ with Kidman

September 16th, 2009 in Actors, Book-to-Movie, Directors, Screenwriting -

danishgirlNicole Kidman will star in a true-life sex change that took place in the early 1930’s.   Let the Right One In director Tomas Alfredson will direct the drama called The Danish Girl.

A fictionalized true story is based on David Ebershoff’s novel of the same title about Danish painter Einar Wegener (Kidman), who in 1931 became the first person to go through a sex-change operation to become a woman.

It’s hard to tell if Alfredson will shoot The Danish Girl before John le Carre adaptation of the cold war film Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy or not, which he committed to before Danish Girl.
