Saw Franchise Saved Way More People Than It Killed

On September 22nd, 2009

saw-v-teaser-posterWe all know that the Saw franchise is an endless bloody massacre that’s taken more than its share of victims.  But what you may NOT know is that, thanks to the Saw Blood Drive run annually alongside the premiere, the Saw franchise has effectively saved nearly three hundred sixty thousand human lives through the enormous amount of donated blood.

I was kind of freaked out when I heard those numbers.  Normally you don’t associate a horror franchise with saving lives, but man, if this doesn’t put a crimp in the anti-horror crowd then it’s pretty safe to say nothing ever will.  Next time someone gives you static about horror flicks, just bust out those numbers, man…every time you see a horror flick, you’re contributing to the culture that yielded the Saw series that saved pushing half a million lives.

So when you go to see Saw VI in another few weeks, you can settle in with your popcorn and drink and know that you’re doing something good for someone else.  And that’s just awesome.
