David Duchovny Talks X-Files 3, Crickets Deafen Hundreds

October 21st, 2009 in Actors, Box Office, Movie News, Sci-Fi, Sequels -

david_duchovny_05Seriously, after the misery tour that X Files: I Want To Believe was, does anyone really think that there’s going to be a third X Files movie?  Well, David Duchovny sure sounds interested.  What, doesn’t cable pay that well?  Anyway, Duchovny’s on record with the following spectacular brain fart:

“As far as the X-Files movie I’d like to do next, if we get a chance to do it, would be a return to the heart and soul of the mythology, which is the alien-oriented conspiracy. I think it’s natural for The X-Files to have another movie in 2012, so we’ll see if we get to do it.”

This would be about the only way they could, considering the beating that the last one took for having absolutely nothing to do with the alien-oriented conspiracy and having more to do with organ transplants and sleazy cash grabs.

Oh, and just in case anyone thought that Duchovny could actually express an original thought on the second X-Files movie, check THIS out:

“I was happy with it… I have nothing but respect for [X-Files creator] Chris Carter and the writing staff.”

Oh noes!  Run for the hillz!  Cancer Man got Mulder and is making him repeat clearly obvious propaganda about the quality of a pile of crap movie.  Well, that was that minor nervous breakdown averted, so look for a third X-Files movie to probably come out about the same time hell freezes over.

Hmmm, well actually, I found that YOUR article made the crickets deafen hundreds. Are you for real with your cutesy little comment about a “brain fart”? Makes me think this site is hiring 13 year olds to write, guess that’s an unpleasant result of the recession. And in case it isn’t yet obvious to you, let me spell it out: I think your article is very poorly written and childish, in fact I’m not even sure why you wasted everyone’s time and posted this. Everyone’s entitled to their opinion, but why don’t you try writing an article without insults and childish slang, and instead give some viable reasons for your opinion, it would actually make your article worth reading whether people agree with it or not.

Here’s a tip: take a lesson from others who write interesting and thoughtful articles, here’s only one example, there’s plenty more all over the net: http://reflectionsonfilmandtelevision.blogspot.com/2008/07/movie-review-x-files-i-want-to-believe.html

I actually really appreciated the 2nd movie. Throughout the whole series, there were basically 2 types of episodes: those which dealt with the occult/horror and the story focused on Mulder and Scully’s relationship, and those that dealt with the alien/government conspiracy.

The first X-Files movie dealt with the conspiracy side. The series wrapped up with the whole conspiracy over, and the date of the alien invasion announced: December, 21st 2012.

Since there wasn’t much to do aliens wise, until 2012, it seems appropriate to have a movie dedicated to seeing Mulder and Scully solidify their relationship.

It’s too bad more people didn’t get that. It was a movie for the real fans of the series.

I would expect us to see a young teen, William, attempting to prevent an alien invasion in 2012. I really hope a third movie gets made.

Why is everyone putting down the 2nd movie? Carter specifically said that it wasn’t going to be a mythology movie. This movie is perfect in every way and the title sure speaks for itself. Throughout the series Scully is unsure of her beliefs, hence Father
