Middle of Nowhere Online Review–Creepy If Lacking

On October 8th, 2009

So I’m out watching short film on YouTube and I come across Middle of Nowhere, a short that suggests vast quantities of creepy in a tiny space, but doesn’t quite manage to deliver.

This one’s all about a bunch of guys sitting around playing Uno when one of them gets a call on his cell phone.  That caller asks just two simple questions, and that will start a sequence of events that will make for one creepy night for the lot of them.

It’s actually kind of interesting, even though it might take a couple tries to get because large portions of the film are too dark to see much of anything through, but if I understood it right, it’s actually a pretty scary concept.  Almost like an old urban legend, or something similar.

The Screenhead Ten Scale gives this one a six out of ten for being creepy but only in certain lights.  The audience should never have to guess at what they’re watching.
