The Deceased Online Review–A Little Bit Familiar

On October 12th, 2009

It’s no secret that some of the scariest horror on Earth comes out of Japan, so it’s not even in the least a surprise that some might choose to imitate Japan in their horror making.  The Deceased, a contestant in a forty-eight-hour film contest, takes exactly that route.

In this one, a young girl finds herself pursued by a ghost who has a serious problem with hair loss.  But the ghost thinks the girl represents the opportunity of a lifetime.

I know, I’m being a little cryptic there, but when you’re dealing with a four minute movie there’s not a whole lot of room to not spoiler.  So you all but have to be a little cryptic to get anywhere.

My cryptic notes aside, this is a pretty good horror flick.  It’s a little too short to be really scary, but the idea is pretty sound, and it probably would’ve made a pretty fair feature-length title so that some of the loose ends could’ve been worked out.

The Screenhead Ten Scale hands this one a solid six out of ten for being a little better than average, but not by much.
