And Even Weirder, The Griswolds Come Back!

On November 24th, 2009

It’s been an absolute panic of an evening for me, folks–I’ve never seen the kind of weirdness that I’ve seen come out of tonight.  At least, not that I can remember, anyway…but once again I have baffling news.

Apparently, Clark and Ellen Griswold, the nucleus of National Lampoon‘s Vacation, Christmas Vacation, European Vacation and Vegas Vacation (not in that order, of course), will be back for more fun as part of an ad campaign for HomeAway vacation rentals.  In fact, so will the original Wagon Queen Family Truckster from the first installment.

There’s no word, of course, if any of the original Rustys or Audreys–and there were many, a new set each film–will be coming back or if a NEW set of Griswold children will be uncrated for the occasion.

It’s sad that this is what brings back Clark and Ellen, but given the quality of Vegas Vacation, I don’t suppose I’m really that surprised.  It’ll likely never be as good as Christmas Vacation, probably the best in the series (closely followed by the original Vacation, of course), again…but any Clark and Ellen is better than none.
