And Then The Clouds Parted–Rob Zombie Done With Horror

On November 26th, 2009

robZombieFolks, there is a cause for some minor celebration this fine day as I give you the announcement that I picked up just hours ago–there is now a VERY good chance that Rob Zombie is done with horror.  Check this out:

“If you go down that road too far, it’s hard to break out of it,” said Zombie backstage at the Aragon Ballroom before his Sunday show. “I don’t want to get stuck with anything. I want the freedom to do what I want to do.”

Yes, I suppose we can now break out the cries of “Yahoo” as we cartwheel down the hall knowing this second-rate hack will never be able to botch another remake as long as ANY of us live.  Including his lovely little stab at The Blob, which probably no one was really looking forward to anyway, especially after his revelation that he wanted to try and do it without the Blob, somehow, unless that was misunderstood somewhat.

But frankly, after House of 1000 Corpses, and the disheartening demolition of the Halloween series, I’ve had enough of the guy anyway.  I do make some allowances for The Devil’s Rejects, however, because that one wasn’t so bad.
