Happy Meal Online Review–A Strange New Recipe

November 23rd, 2009 in Action, Actors, Foreign Language, Horror, Movies, Reviews -

The interesting thing about the work of Patrick Boivin seems to be that it revolves heavily around clowns.  And not happy ones, either.  So today, we’re tackling one of his, Happy Meal, which promises to be, well, bloody and clown-filled.

And it lives up to its promise.

This revolves around a guy working in an office building who’s about to leave for the day.  But before he does, he tosses a large revolver in his briefcase.  Why?  Well…you’ll find out.

Rest assured that, by the end of this movie, you’ll be suitably freaked out and wondering how Patrick Boivin isn’t getting sued into oblivion by McDonalds.  Oh, and you’ll also be getting the sense that French horror is still some really, REALLY good stuff.

This was easily one of the most confusing, baffling, and ultimately frightening shorts I’ve seen in quite some time.

The Screenhead Ten Scale gives this weird packet of creepy a seven out of ten for doing its job well, if incomprehensibly.
