MUSE Academy Stages Fundraising Auction
Huge, HUGE, prizes await anyone who’s interested in going after the auction being put on by the MUSE Academy, a school for the arts headed by none other than Suzy Amis Cameron.
MUSE describes itself as a “non-profit, educational organization in Topanga, California, dedicated to empowering children to realize the full potential of their lives through academic excellence, personal responsibility, compassionate relations, global consciousness and environmental awareness.”
Being as I have some background myself in private schools like this–though nowhere near as big as MUSE was–this is something of a personal issue for me. But lest you think I’m just using a bully pulpit to hawk a personal hot-button issue, I say thee nay, for there are also some really CHOICE items going into this auction.
How’s “ten minutes chatting and taking photos” with Governor Schwartznegger for you and three friends sound?
Lunch with Bill Paxton? Tickets to the Avatar premiere and after party? Tickets to a luxury suite at the Grammy Awards? And just in case you think this is high-dollar only, how does two hundred seventy five bucks for a tour of Weta Workshop in New Zealand (as in Return of the King Weta Workshop) sound to you?
Accessible, doesn’t it? And remember, it’s for a good cause–helping children learn. That’s never a bad thing.
