I run across a lot of truly baffling news items, folks, and I do my level best to bring you the strangest of the lot.  I think I might well have succeeded with this one.

There are rumors currently floating around that say a new Saved By The Bell movie is being put together, and the original cast will have at best minimal involvement with it.  They’re planning to bring in a whole new cast to handle the acting duties on this one, with maybe only a handful of cameos for the original cast.

I’ll give good odds that Dustin Diamond and Dennis Haskins are both sobbing on the floor somewhere, horrified that their one real claim to fame will be going on without them.

And that’s a small joke.  But in all seriousness, what would be the point?  The movie’s likely target market may well have never seen the old episodes, and the ones who actually REMEMBER the movie aren’t likely to watch it without the old cast and even then probably not many of them would watch.

Excuse me if this one sounds like a doomed boat from the word go.
