So in a move that proves that even Disney can learn, the previously announced sequel to Disney’s Wild Hogs, the not too surprisingly named Wild Hogs 2, is currently cancelled.

It joins a list of likewise cancelled projects like McG’s 20000 Leagues Under the Sea remake and the sure to have been a floptacular Wedding Banned, featuring Robin Williams.

But why?  Why is Disney venting projects like no tomorrow?  Are they storing up cash to take a run at Pirates of the Caribbean 4, which is likely to make serious bank but take it as well?  Or are they in a deeper trouble that we haven’t yet heard about, the kind of deeper trouble that’s going to take a load of bank to fix?

I’m not sure which is which yet, and I’m not suggesting the Disney Empire is about to fold, but I’m a little concerned that something much bigger is at work here, and when it finally hits, we may not like the results.
