Bryan Singer Coming Back To X-Men: First Class?
Ooohhhh boy.
This is some news, folks. A real wild card in my whole day. But being as I am a stalwart of film journalism, I will go forth to relay this as best I can.
Apparently, there will be a third X-Men sequel, bringing the total count up to four, and they’ll be bringing back no less than Bryan Singer of the second X-Men title to handle the direction duties.
More accurately, it’ll be a prequel called X-Men: First Class, and will likely be based on the events of the Wolverine movie, because that’s definitely where they looked like they were going with it.
No one has a script for this or anything like that, so whether or not this is just rumor or not remains to be seen. Admittedly, it’s better to hear Bryan Singer’s coming back than, say, Brett Ratner, but there’s virtually no substantiation–that’s why you see the big question mark up in the title. So for right now, call it for what it is–gossip of the purest sort.
