So there’s an early rumor going around that the parody Jane Austen title Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, featuring the whole Austen crew, is getting a made for TV movie.

This rumor strikes me as a little unusual, but it seems to have a little backing.  That image you see at right?  That’s an image the crew out at horror-movies.ca were showing around as a possible “promo image” from the upcoming concept.

Now, this rumor has me a bit skeptical.  One, zombies are still hot properties and likely always will be thanks to the one and only George Romero.  Two, why direct to television, of all places?  Who’d take it?  Syfy?  AMC?  …Chiller?  There really aren’t that many networks that would tackle a zombie-based parody of a major literary work.

Something smells mighty hinky about this rumor…but being as this is the earliest stages of same, it’s not too surprising that not all the pieces are as yet in place.
