Now, admittedly, the stuff we get on YouTube isn’t exactly the greatest in short film.  Sure, we’ve had some real high points around here like the Fewdio shorts, and there have been good items from time to time.

But the Contagion series–which has all the earmarks of becoming a series–is something different.  Something amazing.

Contagion assumes that all television shows and movies are taking place in the same universe.  Thus, it would be perfectly possible for Mulder and Scully to help out Jack Bauer while he’s torturing terrorists.  And Blade might well be hunting the Cullen family as we speak.

What this is is some kind of massive mash-up, in which bits of other films are taken and strung together to make a new, altogether different whole.  And I have to admit, it’s really rather amazing, even if the footage is somewhat limiting.  It will be VERY interesting to see how this all shakes out.

The Screenhead Ten Scale is a bit confused, but terribly intrigued, and as such hands over an eight out of ten.  Not because this particular short was really good, but because it might be part of something downright unbelievable.
