Just the idea of Mickey Rourke in Iron Man 2 makes the movie quite different from the original Iron Man.  Robert Downey, Jr. gets to play with an awesome actor that we haven’t see enough of since Wrestler.

Obviously, more money has been shoveled into the film production. That alone can make a movie theme or subject matter completely change from the predecessor.

That said, what I like about Rourke is his finesse and flair. He definitely acts from within and is damn good and the camera likes him too.

This poster is ominous with those beams coming out from Whiplash’s arms. I get the idea that Iron Man is in big trouble.
