New Sword and Sandal Epic Coming–Eagle Of The Ninth
Well, folks, it was probably only a matter of time before we went back to this well in profusion, and with the Clash of the Titans remake only a few short months away from screens, it’ll be followed up by Eagle of the Ninth.
I found a synopsis on Cinema Blend, so I’ll put it up for you:
The Eagle of the Ninth is set in the dangerous world of second-century Britain. In 140 AD, twenty years after the unexplained disappearance of the entire Ninth Legion in the mountains of Scotland, young centurion Marcus Aquila (played by Channing Tatum) arrives from Rome to solve the mystery and restore the reputation of his father, the commander of the Ninth. Accompanied only by his British slave Esca (Jamie Bell), Marcus sets out across Hadrian’s Wall into the uncharted highlands of Caledonia – to confront its savage tribes, make peace with his father’s memory, and retrieve the lost legion’s golden emblem, the Eagle of the Ninth. The movie also stars Donald Sutherland, Mark Strong, and Tahar Rahim.
Sound a lot like that King Arthur remake to anyone else? Or maybe The Last Legion? Well, at any rate, this should at least be interesting to watch. I’ve often enjoyed movies like this–they don’t take a lot of chances but they’re the kind of thing you only see occasionally and few ever really graphically screw anything up. So chances are Eagle of the Ninth will turn out all right.

I CAN NOT WAIT UNTILL THIS MOVIE IS RELEASED IT LOOKS LIKE IT WILL BE A FANTASTIC FILM AND WITH CHANNING TATUM IN THE FILM IT IS SURE TO BE A BLOCKBUSTER HE TO ME IS A PHENOMENAL ACTOR AND WITH HIM IN THIS ROLL HE WILL KNOCK IT OUT OF THE PARK
