Ryan Reynolds’ Horror Cred Grows By The Day
I have to admit that I’ve been enjoying Ryan Reynolds’ work for some time now. His awesome smirking waiter in Waiting, the sweet job he did with George Lutz in the Amityville Horror remake…the guy’s pretty talented.
So I was definitely intrigued to hear about Buried, a project that definitely hearkens back to the Hitchcock era of suspense – thriller material.
It centers on a contractor in Iraq, who is probably understandably shocked to discover that he’s suddenly underground one morning. Yes, he’s been buried in what looks like a piano crate, and he’s got a cell phone, a lighter, and about ninety eight minutes of air before he suffocates.
I know! That’s got me all freaked out too! How does he escape? DOES he escape? But I can tell from past experience that Reynolds is likely to be able to comport himself well on this front, mostly because he’s done a great job previously. Ryan Reynolds‘ horror cred is just amazing at this point, and although there is no release data yet, I’m definitely eager to find out how this goes.
