The Karate Kid is a misnomer. There I said it.  I honestly cannot see how this film is a remake of  the original 80′s The Karate Kid, starring the late Pat Morita, Ralph Macchio and Elizabeth Shue.

Besides the remake controversy, I love Jackie Chan in this trailer and I think he’s found a role that gives him the credit he deserves.  Jada Smith holds his own as well and I am sure his daddy, Will Smith, who is also producing the movie, is awfully proud of his son.

The movie opens June 11, 2010.
