Robin Williams is a rare and gifted actor who spends most of his time making complete garbage.

I’m not sure why that is, but when you look at his career, it looks like a long string of horrendous movies that must’ve at least looked good on paper but turned out to be just colossal wrecks.  Licensed to Wed ring any bells?  No?  How about recent disaster Old Dogs?  Maybe Flubber?

At any rate, it’s been a long time since we’ve seen his latest Dead Poets Society, and it won’t be coming any time soon by the look of it.  In fact, Wedding Banned, his newest, has just been removed from Disney’s 2011 lineup.

It’s strange to consider how an actor like Williams, known for stand up comedy, seems to fare better in dramatic roles over comedy, but that definitely seems to be the case.  I remember him in Insomnia, frankly, and that one was really good.  I never thought of Robin Williams in a crime drama, and yet, there he was! And doing a fine job of things too!

So hopefully, Williams’ next role puts him where he needs to be–back in the drama seat.
