Bigelow’s The Hurt Locker Wins Nat’l Film Critics’ Awards

Kathryn Bigelow directed a solid winner, and she adds another notch to her success with The Hurt Locker. The Iraq War thriller received honors from the National Society of Film Critics’ award for picture, director and actor for Jeremy Renner. The Bigelow’s picture is the first film since 1997 to sweep top honors. In 1997, L.A. Confidential generated top honors from the Los Angeles, New York and national critics’ groups.
The best actress category went to Belgian actress Yolande Moreau for Seraphine.
