Hot Spaghetti YouTube Review–I’m As Confused As You Are

January 29th, 2010 in Horror, Movies, Reviews -

Okay, when you walk into a short film titled Hot Spaghetti, that bills itself as a “zombie short film”, you, much like me, probably aren’t too sure of what to make of it.

But in this case, you’ll be in for something of a surprise, as this short film does a pretty good job of getting its point across in rapid fashion.

We join the world in the early stages of a zombie apocalypse, and this illustrates why the city is a bad place to be in in that particular event.  A young man is attacked by a homeless man and that kicks off a steady stream of zombies, horror and spaghetti.

The spaghetti part, implausibly, will manage to make sense by the end of this.  In fact, the whole thing is surprisingly well done.  There’s not a lot of backstory here, but these guys have done a great job of making a very small story fit in a very small space.  It works great, and with some fleshing out, would make a fantastic feature.  Even the effects, which one expects to be a joke, were actually respectable.

The Screenhead Ten Scale gives this little surprise an eight out of ten for defying expectations and doing a whole lot with a very little.
