Is Evil Dead 4 Going Somewhere?

evil dead 4I warn you up front today, folks, there will be speculation and conclusions  being jumped to literally everywhere, but I had a strange little confluence of logic today that led me to wonder–strictly WONDER, mind you!–if maybe something’s finally going somewhere with the Evil Dead series.

The picture you’re looking at was found over at horror-movies.ca, one of my personal fave sources for horror movie news, and was recently added to their “most recent posters” section.  You can see that this has the Universal logo on it, and the poster itself at least looks passingly authentic.

But we all know how easy Photoshop can make things like this happen, so what’s the deal?  Is this an authentic poster?  A fan-made piece?  What’s the deal?  My own research suggests baffling possibilities–either could actually be the case as a script for Evil Dead 4 does exist, but it’s in the very very earliest stages and seems to be more an occasional laugh for Sam and Ivan Raimi than an actual script in progress.

So to answer my headline question, the answer is, no one really knows, but most everyone hopes so.
