Of course, we’re all familiar with Spider Man, and Iron Man, and the X-Men, and a whole host of heroes that have made Marvel (and now Disney) a great whopping lot of bank over the years and show no signs of slowing down any time soon.

But what you may not have considered–and it’s something Disney definitely is–is that Marvel holds the rights to around about FIVE THOUSAND HEROES.

Five thousand.  Let that sink in just a second.  All sorts of lesser-known names that could easily make a movie like Firestar and Nova and a literal host of others that could easily swing in and make Marvel / Disney epic piles of money should Disney put the weight of its marketing machine to work behind them.

And you know as well as I do that nothing fires up a studio’s interest like an epic pile of money.  All they have to do now is get to writing and get to shooting.
